JOB TITLE: HR – Project Specialist
DEPARTMENT: HR
REPORTS TO: Director of HR

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Project Specialist completes and implements a variety of HR projects as assigned to them. Some project direction will be provided by the Executive Director.  

This is is Temporary/Contract position that begins immediately and will end August 31st 2025.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As directed by the Director of HR and the Executive Director, the project specialist will

Key Responsibilities:

Project Completion: Work on HR projects from initiation to completion, including needs assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation. Utilize project management methodologies to ensure successful outcomes.

Collaboration: Work closely with HR team members and other departments to gather requirements, define project scopes, and establish timelines and deliverables. The HR project specialist will work on projects for the

            HR benefits coordinator
            HR Recruitment coordinator
Senior Leadership team
Payroll Projects (as directed)

Data Analysis: Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends, measure project impact, and inform decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates and addressing concerns as they arise.

Training and Development: Participate in  training programs as part of project initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all HR projects comply with legal regulations and industry best practices.

Reporting and Administrative tasks: Prepare and present project reports and outcomes to senior management, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. Might be required to be present during meetings to take minutes. All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Human Resources Diploma or Certificate required. 2 years of Human Resources Experience required.

Proficient understanding of Human Resources roles and responsibilities.

Training and or experience using COMVIDA program.

Experience, knowledge and good understanding interpreting the BCNU, HEU, HEABC collective agreements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational skills, written and oral skills,
  • Above average oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, HRIS) with the ability to put together reports
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
