Tabor Village Announces The Acquisition of Valhaven Care Home

Tabor Village has acquired Valhaven Care Home. The acquisition closed on January 16, 2017 and increases Tabor Village’s capacity to care for an additional 26 seniors. On the acquisition, Dan Levitt, Executive Director of Tabor Village shared, “We are very excited to welcome Valhaven to our family of seniors care and housing." Tabor Village has operated Valhaven under a lease agreement since December 2015 and has provided a high standard of quality of care for seniors since 1960. “We look forward to continuing that legacy through honouring the traditions of Valhaven with a vision to create a best-in-class portfolio of care and housing communities," Hildegard Bandsmer, Chair, Tabor Village commented. “After careful consideration while operating Valhaven over a twelve month period it was decided that purchasing the complex care community was in the best interest of employees, seniors, their families and the broader community.” With the acquisition, Tabor Village will employ over 400 employees and volunteers on two campuses, providing quality care for 144 complex care seniors, 104 spaces of assisted living, 39 units of independent living as well as residential properties.
