Annual General Meeting

 

Notice

 

Tabor Home Society is holding its 58th Annual General Meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Tabor Village Chapel at Tabor Court, 31954 Sunrise Crescent, Abbotsford, B.C., V2T 1N6.  There will be two Special Resolutions presented at the meeting.  Special Resolution #1 will deal with the Board’s authorization to borrow money.  Special Resolution #2 will replace the current Bylaws with new Bylaws which comply with the requirements of the new Societies Act. Copies of the Special Resolutions are available  below, or at your church office.  All members of Participating Congregations are members of Tabor Home Society and are invited to attend the Tabor Home Society Annual General Meeting.  Refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Special Resolution #1

 

Be it resolved by a Special Resolution of the Members of Tabor Home Society (“Society”) at the Annual General Meeting of the Society held on June 12, 2018, THAT:

 

In accordance with Sections 9.1 and 9.2 of the Tabor Home Society Bylaws and the Society Act, the members authorize the Directors of the Society to borrow money, issue debentures, execute mortgages or any other security of the Society’s real or personal property, or execute any other evidence of securities for money borrowed or to be borrowed, all upon such terms and conditions as the Directors may in their absolute discretion determine, such authorization to be effective until the next Annual General Meeting of the Society.

 

 

 

 

Special Resolution #2

Be it resolved by Special Resolution of the Members of Tabor Home Society (“Society”) at the Annual General Meeting of the Society held on June 12, 2018, THAT:

2.1. Membership of the Society shall consist of persons who are members in good standing of Participating Congregations and such other persons as are appointed by the Board in accordance with these Bylaws. When referring to Participating Congregations in these Bylaws, the terms “member” and “members” shall specifically exclude adherents.

 

  

2.1. Persons who are members in good standing of Participating Congregations and such other persons as are appointed by the Board in accordance with these Bylaws are eligible for membership of the Society. When referring to Participating Congregations in these bylaws, the terms “member” and “members” shall specifically exclude adherents.

 
 

2.2. Each Participating Congregation shall annually submit to the Society a list of its members and advise the Society in writing which of its members does not wish to be a member of the Society.

 

  

2.2. Any person who is a member of a Participating Congregation may confirm that fact to the Society, providing such information as the society is required by law to maintain, and thereupon that person shall be recorded as a member of the Society.
